EQ Coaching
Your internal map.
Emotional-intelligence coaching grounded in the EQ-i 2.0 and EQ 360: the inner work that changes how you lead. It's the evidence base behind thousands of hours in the room with Maryam.
The leadership skill underneath the skills.
What EQ is
Emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize, understand, and work with emotion (your own and others') in real time. It's measurable, and it's learnable.
Why it matters for leaders
When your emotions are driving your behavior and you have no system to work with them, strategy stalls. The higher you lead, the more your impact runs through how you relate, not just what you decide.
Why now
When the hard skills get handled for us, the human ones decide who leads. Every one of them runs on emotional intelligence, which makes it the most practical thing a leader can build right now.
Emotional intelligence, in four parts.
A widely used way to break the abstract idea of “EQ” into four things you can actually see, measure, and build. Maryam works from the EQ-i 2.0 and EQ 360, below, but these four are the plainest way in.
Self-awareness
Seeing your own patterns clearly: the reactions, triggers, and stories you run on autopilot. Nothing changes until you can name it.
Self-management
Working with what you notice instead of being driven by it. Staying steady, deciding well, and choosing your response under pressure.
Social awareness
Reading the room and the people in it: the unspoken, the underneath. Understanding what others need before they say it.
Relationship management
Turning all of it into how you lead: building trust, having the hard conversation well, and making people feel safe enough to do their best work.
What we build
Greater self-awareness and emotional regulation. Empathy and perspective-taking. Presence and active listening. Relationship-building, adaptability, resilience, and intentional decision-making.
EQ-i 2.0 vs. EQ 360
Both give a clear, evidence-based picture of your EQ across self-perception, self-expression, interpersonal skill, decision-making, and stress management. The difference is whose view you're seeing.
EQ-i 2.0 · Self-report
Your own view of your emotional intelligence. The starting point: how you experience yourself across the EQ competencies.
EQ 360 · Multi-rater
How others experience you (peers, reports, and managers) measured against your self-report. Where the real insight often lives.
One-to-one, or for your team
This is the same framework in two formats. Coaching is the deep, one-to-one version. The Emotional Intelligence workshop brings it to your whole team at once: the group format of the same inner work.
